fever dream 02:56
was it all just a fever dream? caught up in a blood orange haze my mind stuck in a silly craze 'cause for you i'd go out in the freezing rain just to catch a 6am train and in my moments of misery, i speak your name just so i have something to hold on to was it all just a fever dream? a sweltering, a summer heat i open my window it helps me to breathe every gust, flash floods thru my skin can you feel it? can you feel it, too? but, in my dreams you were ugly with rotting teeth and a balding head and your arms crossed at your chest your ribs still broken from that accident your hands a beating red you can barely stand to look at me, you can hardly say a word to me and you say that you don't feel the hurt like i do so nothings changed nothings changed nothing will ever change its easy to turn away its easy to say nothing ever happened here nothing ever was nothing ever happened here nothing ever was we are nothing at all and i, i'm nothing at all but a fool who can't stay awake

they say that i should know the taste of my own blood and that night the metal never left my red solo cup fill me up then spit me out and i know i'm nothing but a drag to this party so i grab my things and i, try to leave but, blurred out faces are begging me to stay they tell me to come out and play they say that your angel comes to you when you're in your sleep and mine had piercing eyes so wide and so alive he told me there was so much left that i, i needed to see and a beaming white heat took over my body and it was time to fly and i've never been so high i woke up in the morning with my head between my knees i woke up in the morning with my heart at my feet i woke up crying because the only thing i needed was my angel my angel my angel to come back to life
